Welcome To Crimson Geek Chronicles!
On January 19, 2024, I officially launched this website. Crazy right?
I figure the best way to talk about the site, who I am, and why am I doing this is to treat this almost like an FAQ.
What is Crimson Geek Chronicles?
Crimson Geek Chronicles, or CGC for short, is a blog focusing on a variety of geeky topics. The plan is to talk about games, movies, comic books, as well as include some lifestyle content like cooking, tech, and my own personal experiences as it relates to whatever I’m talking about.
On a more personal level, this is just something I needed to do for myself. As much as I enjoy my other platforms, which I’ll discuss in just a bit, I realized I wanted a creative outlet that is both challenging (effective/engaging writing is hard after all) and fulfilling. At the end of the day, this just made sense to me.
Ok cool. So, who are you?
Hi, I’m Vani. For the last five years, I’ve been a Twitch streamer, focusing primarily on Final Fantasy XIV and cooking. Before that though, I had dabbled in podcasting, YouTube, and blogging. Writing has always been a huge part of my life, both personally and professionally so I’m really excited to be starting this new adventure and am so grateful you’re along for the ride. If you would like to learn more about me, check out my social media links at the top.
How often will there be posts?
As often as I can, time and inspiration permitting. I have a full-time job and a Twitch channel that I’m on 3 days a week, so I plan on working on CGC, when I’m not doing the other two things. I also don’t want to necessarily force myself to write as I’ve noticed that is when I’m least satisfied with my work.
There may be weeks that I can knock out 3 or 4 posts, and there may be weeks where I’ll struggle to get even one post out. I’m giving myself a lot of grace with this project since this will require some time to work on and life can be life-ing sometimes.
As of this post, there are only two main categories: Gaming and Movies. Over time, as the blog grows, new categories will start to pop up to help keep things organized. This is very much a work in progress; so much so that I’ve been calling this current version of the blog as it’s “pre-alpha” build. Your feedback can also help shape the blog so feel free to message me on any of my platforms with your (respectful) feedback and suggestions.
